My cottage is located at the mouth of the GW river. Omega is located right behind us on Cockrells Creek. The went out everday that we were there over Labor Day weekend. They were cooking the fish. Wind was right during the Holiday weekend and the smell was awful. Went down to the cottage this morning and could hear the plane diving around Smith Point area.

They were just below the MD/VA line below Smith Point Light on Frida 9/4 around 8-9am. Three planes flying around and 4 ships.

Four boats and one plane were working this morning (Monday 9/14) on the western side of the Bay between the Great Wicomico River Channel and Smith Point Light. An additional boat was working along the MD/VA line north of Smith Point Light. Busy day in the area as two net boats were working the eastern side of the channel.

The Potomac is loaded with menhadden all the way up to Colonial Beach. Omega will soon be feasting on these fish and leaving nothing for our rockfish in Va waters for this fall....such a shame.

Great. Just great.
Somebody earlier in this thread said that the Potomac was loaded with bait all the way up to Colonial Beach. Isn't Omega prohibited from fishing the Potomac, since it is Maryland's water?
It would be the obvious explanation as to why there's plenty of menhaden there (and not elsewhere), and an example of what the rest of the Bay would look like if Omega went away for good.

They cannot fish the Potomac since it is in Maryland but all those little critters migrate into the Bay and the fishboats will be waiting for them
