All,

Based on the results of the poll which closed September 15th, disscusion between the club presidents and myself, we have come up with the final plans for this years SRRKC vs UBBB Battle on the Bay. We tried to stay pretty consistant with what has worked well in years past. Please sign up in this thread with your intent to particiapte in October 31st event. Please include an accurate count of how many people you will have on your boat. If you need to make changes please let me know and I will change it in the thread.

4th annual UBBB vs SRRKC Battle on the Bay date and guidelines

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay guys this is the real deal and it will not be changed, after talking with Skip (27 sailfish),Mark (attml) & Todd (Toddstackle) this afternoon we have nailed down the guidelines, time date and place for weigh-in.

Date is Saturday 10/31/2009

1. Fishing time starts at 6:00am to 1:00pm and check in is 1:30pm and not a minute after! Check in will be at Deep Creek bar and Grill (same as last year).

2. Cost will be $ 10.00 dollars per person, money is due at the pier as you check in. IF YOU SIGN UP FOR THE TOURNAMENT YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PAY EVEN IF YOU DON'T COME TO THE WEIGH-IN! We are trying to avoid people blowing off the event last minute and affecting the expected prize money. Sign-up and changes to your crew for the event can be made up until 11PM, October 30th.

3. We will be fishing for Rockfish and White Perch and the break down is as follows:

Bigest overall Rockfish on the day receives a 60% pay out of total entry fee money.

Biggest White Perch of the day receives a 30% pay out of total entry fee money.

Wish-a-fish will be donated the remaining 10% pay out.

All fish will be measured from tip of the nose to the tip of the tail - tails will be squeezed or pinched.

The grand prize trophy and club bragging rights will be determined by the total length of the top three largest fish measured from each club. The club with the longest aggregate length of the top 3 fish wins the trophy.

**Weather cancellation will be determined by Mark/Skip/Todd if there is foul weather by 8:00pm Friday 10/30**

LETS ALL HAVE A FUN FILLED AND A SAFE DAY!

Tyler and me are in - I have room for 1 or 2 SRRKCers.

Cancel due to weather ? You have a Contender and a Grady owner calling that one :D - it's on no matter what. 50 knots - it's fishable .

Seriously - to make it easy - if small craft is posted for the 31st - best to cancel. No sense someone getting hurt.

Let's hope someone gets a Halloween monster to weigh in.

All,

I confirmed with Phil, the manager at Deep Creek Restaurant and Marina, so we should be all set for Saturday. I told him we will do our weigh in on the dock then folks would come in just as if we were normal patrons after the weigh in. I told him expect people anywhere from 12:30 - 1:30.

If you haven't done so, please start posting a firm headcount for your boat for Saturday. Please remember in order to keep the event as fun and trouble free as possible we are really trying to avoid people signing up and not showing up. It is never fun to win and find out at the dock that the prize money is $50 less because of no shows. The deadline to make crew changes is 11PM Friday, October 30th after that we are asking that you please cover the $10 for any no shows. Thank you very much!

Here is info on Deep Creek (on the Magothy):

Weather may be crappy... whats the plan in case we have to postpone? Next Sat?

From NOAA marine forecast:

The next cold front will pass through the waters during the weekend. A Small Craft Advisory may be warranted for Friday night and Saturday.

Paul,

I don't know the parking situation at Deep Creek - never been there by car, but I don't have a problem with it!

Jamie,

I have been keeping an eye on the marine forecast and it has changed 4 times in the last two days. We definitely don't want to put anyone in an unsafe situation so we will keep an eye on it and make the call tomorrow evening. Keep an eye on this thread for updates!

Not sure what has changed but every model on fish weather has agreed since monday and for once they havn't waivered yet. 15-17 knts w/ gusts to twenty. Not sure what you guys think I certainly aint afraid of getting wet but you better send a buddy boat out with Burgess that boat's gonna be loaded to the gills with enough burgess and beer to sink a barge.

Guys, my little boat has been out in 4 fT plenty of times! It isn't the easist to troll w/planner boards when it gets like that but if we are in agreement to hold the tournament I will be out there! If you recall it was blowing a solid 20 at last years battle on the bay. One option is that those with smaller boats may just have to stick with river fishing and come to the weighin by car? Skip, Todd & I will discuss it tomorrow and see what it looks like but I am itching to fish!!!

Just looked at the forecast on windfinder and it looks more encouraging than the NOAA guys - They are only calling for 14-16 on Saturday. Windfinder - Wind & weather Superforecast Thomas Point (http://www.windfinder.com/weatherforecast/thomas_point)
