Got a late start, arrived at OI around 0600. Got bait & Ice and headed out...the inlet is a little tricky with all the dredging going on, so take it slow and be careful.

Got to the bluewater south of the point at 0745 and put the spread out. Trolled south looking for marlin and sails without a bite. Weeds scattered and water temps were favorable but no bites.

Decided to head back north and instantly hook up on a Wahoo around 40 lbs. around 0930 Continued to head North. Heard some talk on the radio of Yellowfin being caught north of the Tuna Hole. Picked up our gear and ran further North. Found some small boats and the fleet and put lines back out.

Long port line goes down but not much pullage. Thought is might be a small dolphin, turns out to be a juvenile Blackfin, get it boatside and let him go. Reset lines and a double hook up, both the short flat lines goes off, this time line is screaming off the reel. One gets off and the other goes in the boat. Nice 40 lb. class Tuna.

Saw a couple Yellowfins jumping out of the water chasing bait fish, no other hits the rest of the day. Made it back to the doack around 1730.

Thanks for the report.Got some meat for supper.
Looks like nice boat riding weather.
Where did all the billfish go?Sounds like the warm water pushed out.OI only had a few compared to Monday.

We saw you guys out there on the tail end of the tuna bite north of the tuna hole. Us and one other small boat were the first to find them and let everyone know. We ended up going 3 for 4 on nice yellers, losing the biggest at the side of the boat, spitting the hook before the gaff shot. After the other boats showed up, including the green sticks, the bite died. We also caught a nice wahoo, about the size of yours earlier in the morning on the planer setup with a pink spoon. We had about a half dozen screaming bites that did not come tight once the rod was picked up. Definetely a nice day on the water, flat calm. You could run all you wanted. Should be the start of a decent fall bite, I hope... Ben
