I changed the fuel line to the inboard tank on my 150 Yamaha and now the bulb stays flat when you pump it. The arrow is in the correct direction. Any other ideas?

Old primer bulb? If so, change it.

Which part did you replace? Your fuel supply line goes from your tank to (hopefully) a fuel water separator, then out the separator to the bulb, then out the bulb to the engine. That's 3 sections of hose.

If its a new bulb, then it sounds like you're creating a vaccuum somewhere. Did you replace the fuel line connector to the engine? Is that on correctly? Or else you have blockage somewhere, possibly residue from the old line in some old fittings (like the bulb or the connector). I would leave it connected to the engine and disconnect from the tank end of the primer bulb. If it pumps, then your blockage is foreward (towards the fuel tank) of the primer bulb, so go to the tank end of the fuel separator and disconnect that and try again, then move to the fuel tank itself. If the bulb is ok, then eventually you'll find where your blockage is.

Thanks for the replies:

I replaced everything from the fuel separater to the motor. I will try your trouble shooting methods this weekend. Thanks for the advice.
