boating info

i am thinking of buying a used boat maybe next year.problem is i know nothing about boating in salt water.is there a site i can learn basics from?bouys,safety,basic boating info? any help would be appreciated. thanks

DNR holds free classes at various places throughout the year. Also, I believe the Power Squadron has a more advanced type class. Couldn't tell you who to contact. Maybe someone else can tell you, or you'll have to look them up.
