OMC Lower Unit

The guy that works with me fried his out drive last week. Its an 89 omc cobra behind a ford 351. Anyone have any idea if an OMC that was on a 6 cylinder would work? Or maybe if there was an OMC outboard whose lower unit would work. Thanks

The lower unit from a six will DEFINITELY not work. The gearing is entirely different and he wouldn't be able to get out of his own way.
