B-Dog,
Good to hear from you again. Who needs pain killers for root canals, were crabbers.
Did get to the Wye by myself last Friday around 12:30 a little numb in the mouth but otherwise ok. I took 20 open tops and by around 3:00 had a bushel. Most of the crabs were around 6 1/2 in 6-10 feet. Most were rustry but there were surprisingly many whities and females.
Went past the bridge, made a left turn up the major river/cove about a mile and a half.
I'll be heading out with my wife this Saturday morning. My back needs a break so I'll let her do the pulling. I think I'm getting to old for this trap thing. I may start paying attention to all the threads concerning trot lines. Hope to see you out there this fall.

The cwowds seem to be thinning out some now that school is back in. The commercial guys seem to be concentrated in a couple of specific areas. As October progresses I'll probably start moving down the river more and more until I'm around the mouth in early November. I'm still doing better in the 8-9 foot range. I hate late October when your pulling 15-20 feet, but I will.
It's good to hear your doing well on the Chester. I hit it a couple of times this year with mixed success. I guess I don't crab it enough to locate the better areas. Are you crabbing up or down river from Rholf's?
My wife is a trooper, she will pull traps Saturday morning and cook them in the evening while I'm knapping. Life is good! Actually this is the first time she will be out with me this year and we will see what really happens at days end.
