I'm going. It looks like the only day this week the weather is going to let me go. I see some tuna are being brought in. I'm going to just zip out there in a random direction and see if I come across some.

I would consider the 700 line to 235 north of the point. look at the new graphical noaa site. what is the name of your boat and when will you leave the inlet?

Be careful with todays SST, its offset big time, better wait for a better shot

A couple people PM'ed me asking what I meant by offset, so here is the shot to show what I meant, basically this SST is useless was all I'm saying

Point looks good. If it sucks troll up to 680 zig zagging from shallow to deep(50-400f). Nothing else deep drop in 45 fathoms at 680, 730.

Alrighty. My boat's the Little Critter. Will be on the usual channels, 16 and 70. Just kidding. I'll be on 68, 80, and that other channel (Doesn't matter though; whenever I talk on the radio out of OI, I feel like I'm talking to myself. I have to BEG just to get a radio check.)
Anyway, I thought about heading toward the Point or just north of it. Then, maybe troll north.
I'm only 99% sure I'm going. I'm still waiting to hear back from one HO.

I'd start at the 650 around 200 fathoms and work south... it's only a few miles to the point

I think Brian is right I would say 680 50 fathoms. I always NW corner of a body of water. Always seems to produce.
You need a good depth sounder to fight the charters or you will come home empty. Find your marks and work them.
If you hear blackfin scale back your presentation and bait size. A small bait off a spreader bar always works...

Only two of us went. Couldn't get anybody else to go. (Sorry, evilgli. I didn''t see your post 'til I got back. We could've used another person.
Picked up a 26 and 63/64 inch YFT just as I was dropping my jetbird/green machine into the water. Caught 3 more baby YFT's and then a bonito. The bonito (I guess that's what they were) were everywhere. Around 1pm we caught a 45-lb YFT on a pink squidnation daisy chain, using a TLD25 and 30-lb test. FUN! Man, he zinged off over 250 yds of line on that first run.
The fish didn't hit anything but plastic (pink, mainly. Also, some green). I trolled 8 lines with four ballyhoo and the fish didn't touch the ballyhoo.

Way to go! At least you guys got some action. I have often thought of going solo on days I can't find people but thats a long ride alone and kinda tough to bring em in alone. Thanks for the report. Martin

Did you weight that 63/64 inch yft?? Thats a big fish. Probably a citation. Also, did you make sure the baby yellowfins didn't have black finlets? Not trying to sound like a know it all, just trying to help as there are a ton of blackfins down there right now. Congrats on the catch.

C mAC, I had to read that several times, but that tuna was just under 27" was the implied message. :)
