My wife is away all day Sat leaving me plenty of fishing time. Sad to say, my Gheenoe is temporarily out of service for some fiberglass repair. If any SRRKC brethren plan to fish on Sat and could use a fishing buddy, I would like to go.

John,

I wish I was fishing on my boat!!! My boat is having issues and I haven't been able to get it started. If I fish at all this weekend it will be probably from the rowboat. Sorry!

I might be going Sat morning around 7ish. Let me know if that fits your schedule.

Woody & I were going to fish, but it'll be SSW @16 w/ gusts to 30 on saturday morn. Add an outgoing tide until 11 and it will not be a pleasant day out there.

Many thanks to Hard Ripples (Colin) for getting me onto the river early this morning. He did not have a very long window of time, but we got out for an hour and a half.

The clear and calm weather was a real bonus. Sadly, the fish were not cooperating. We tried casting different lures at several Severn River locations without any luck until we were nearly back at his dock, when Colin picked up a few modest perch.

By far his best catch of the day was my rod and reel. I do not remember ever before in my fishing life failing to hold onto the rod after a cast. I guess my grip was tired from all the casting and reeling I did on Thurs. Anyway, the St. Croix rod and Shimano Stradic reel flew out of my hand and landed about 6 feet away from the boat. It began sinking rapidly. Colin quickly ran to the front of the boat and begin jigging his lure. On the second try he hooked my line. A rather expensive mistake was quickly rectified!

Thanks Colin for the ride and for the excellent rod retrieval service.
