View Full Version : Question OT - ST. Mary's County Oyster Festival

No fishing on Oct 17.
But I am still driving to ST. Mary's Count. My wife wanted to go to ST. Mary's County Oyster Festival. :confused: I was very surprised. This came out from the middle of nowhere. We went to a few fairs\or similar events only because some of our friends insisted.
I checked the web site. It looks fun to be there. Has anyone been to the festival before?

Been there for the last 5 years. Great time and it amazing to watch the pros shuck oysters. I will be there both Saturday and Sunday since family from out of town are coming both days. Maybe Ill see you there.

I checked Google Map. It looks there is no black top. I guess dress shoes aren't proper shoes for the festival. I think we walk on soggy grass tomorrow. Am I right? My sister wanted to come with us and she never dresses down. Should we wear rubber boots?

SOGGY will be an understatement. Rubber boats will be a good idea. I am going to fish St. Jeromes tomorrow, maybe I will just wear my full rain gear to the festival...

have fun. I went last year and it was a great time, so many different ways to have oysters. It is quite amazing. Can't make it down this year unfortunately.

I just got into a little trouble. I said we shouldn't go to the fair because of the bad weather. They got mad because I was going to fish in the bad weather if we don't go to the fair. It took me 5 minutes to explain what I really meant. I really meant that I didn't want ladies' beautiful feet get dirty. And also Fishing is a water sport and fish don't care about the bad weather.
I don't think I fully recovered from this incident, at least for next 2 months. Nowadays, my sister and my brother in law are on my wife's side.
I think tomorrow is the day when Fish jump into the kayak. We are going out now. I think I will order fish for dinner.
