I'm looking at buying either a 32 Luhrs with CAT 3116 diesels or a 35 Luhrs with CAT 3208 diesels. Anyone have any experience with either boat or the CAT engines? Appreciate any info!!!

search for that at thehulltruth.com, you'll find some help there for sure. Great site with tons of boat info.

We had a customer with a 38' Luhrs with 450 Cummins. Kept cracking galley countertops, could'nt figure out why until we dug into the problem. Found alot of the stringer tabbing broke loose allowing the stringers to move up and down flexing the cabinsole resulting in broken countertops.
As for the Cats 3116, there are alot better motors on the market. The 3208 are great motors as long as they are not over 400Hp. I'm speaking as a owner of Cats.

I believe the Cats are not sleeved.

3208's aren't sleeved, unless they've been rebuilt to the point where they can't be bored without putting in a sleeve. As Thomas said, very good, heavy motors unless you pump them up too high - only problem being they don't make them anymore, so any you find are going to be older.
I know there were problems with one of the Cat series, and I believe it was the 3116.
