The pups are doing great. The litter is very diverse this time. There are some real monsters and two small runts. One chocolate male is a giant. They have eyes open and are starting to walk. Two more weeks and folks can come pick them out. Ready to go first week of December or sooner if on whole food.

Mom is okay. Eating like a horse and still real thin. I am going to start on soft food soon so that will help her.

Guys I gotta tell you I have one from the first littler. He is a black male about eight months old and is a horse of a dog. He's pushing 70-75 pounds now and still growing. The dog is amazingly strong and coming along very well with his retrieval skills. About a month and a half ago it was like the light upstairs just went on. One day he knew nothing the next he was sitting, staying, laying, down, etc. Lately he has been a quick study in regards to specific retrieval skills ie: marking his toys and only going after one at a time when several are thrown. Early goose season was great he made all the same puppy mistakes my last one made. At one point while setting out the floaters I looked behind me and he had a dozen strings across his chest and a dozen decoys in tow just trying to follow his pops around. I couldn't help but laugh. Not gun shy at all and loves other people and dogs. Basically I can't say enough good things about my pup and thanks again to Rick. I can't tell you how much fun having a puppy is including the torn up rugs and eaten drywall. Hillarious to look back at, not hillarious at the time. To all of you getting one of these pups, you are making a great decision. I'm torn lately on whether to get him nuetered or not. I hated doing it to my last one and it's even harder this time around.
Cheers,
Evans

Guys pups are available. The deal is in another week I am going to have folks that are interested come out and take a look at them. They can reserve a pup on a first come first serve basis. I have none locked in for anyone. As folks get here they can reserve one. I will mark with a piece of colored yarn and then in a few weeks they will be ready to roll. Pups got moved outside today. They are in shed and kennel with momma and lots of cedar chips. All 14 are doing well. There are two runts that are very small and then a giant brown male I mean a giant. The rest all are about the same.

Alright here is an attempt at a pic of one of the grown up pups. Saturday wasn't the best hunt but we had fun in the rain. Not sure cause I'm not the best at posting pics but here you go.

This is Skippy. I think she's the only Southerner of the first litter. She's a great dog. She needs a lot of action. My camera's shot, so today's pictures suck. Sorry.

That is the Chessie. I have not heard of many with that most have short lab hair. I am glad some Chessie genes are in there.

When she gets really fired up or wants something bad, she'll stand up on her hind legs straight up. Like a Kangaroo or person or something. Dangest thing I've ever seen.

Hey VB W&I: you can't see from the pic but Cash has the same knotted up hair along his spine as well. The rest of his hair if most all lab and even though it doesn't look out of place that six or seven inch wide tuft along his spine is definetly much more wavy then normal lab hair. Really cool I think.
Tubby: To answer your question about how he did. Well, he is certainly not gun shy but he is a little bird shy. He didn't take to well to the thought of a bird in his mouth. No worries though, he's still young and as long as he's not running for the hills when the guns go off the rest can be taught. I need to get you out one afternoon so you can see him in action. I shoot right near you school. we'll set it up in the late season.

They're some swimming son-of-a guns too. I had Skip out in the ocean last week with some pretty good whitewater rolling in and she'd still bust through it (in over her head) to get her tennis ball and bring it back to shore. Very spirited dogs.

Hey,
Did they all get spoken for? We took the black female "bailey" and two little males were left. We were just wondering if they are spoken for or not. Let us know. Thanks again, Julie and Mark

Rick,
Thanks again for the puppy. My wife and kids love him, my dalmation not so much. He slept through his first night in his kennel with no problems. He loves the duck wings! Enjoy the peace and quiet, if Drake is letting you have any. Dan

We've been really happy with ours. He seems to be a real smart little bugger and already retrieves a small bumper really well. Housebreaking seems to be going better than expected also. Of course, he is chewing everything in sight, but I knew that was coming
Thanks Rick!
