The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission, the folks who set the regulations governing most of the species we talk about on this board, is nearing the end of the public comment phase for several proposals. The one affecting the striper ends tomorrow at 5 pm.
If you want to add your two cents go to Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (http://www.asmfc.org) and go to "Breaking News" on the left, click on "available for public comment" and you will see several items there than should be of interest to all of us. The Menhaden comments period is closed, but I'd be surprised if they didn't accept your input.
Some of it is pretty heavy going, but for the Striper options go to page 8 of the proposal...its cuts through a lot of the Bio 744 language.
You have to ask yourself if you want to make a difference or just BS about it.
