View Full Version : Lousy timing for this weather

I am sitting here looking out over the lower Potomac. Wind is coming in straight down river (north) at about 15 to 20. Water is chocolate brown. There are 2-3 foot rollers bashing my bulkhead where there is usually a 30 foot sand beach. Boat is sitting out on the lift high and not so dry. Too daggone nasty to go out there and check on it. High tide should be about 1 to 2 feet above normal, no telling where this wind will push it though. This was my big 3 day weekend in prime season; I'm bummed.
Headed to the beer store, what's the college game of choice today?

I feel your pain. Hope you went for the 12 pack to save a trip tomorrow before the NFL games.

Better get a case. Football is a ho hum all day. VTech and Yankees games tonight, though.
Major ass-whoopin' in store for Ravens tomorrow, I'm afraid.

I'm sitting in a giant indoor swimming pool at kids swim meet in manassas. Have to ck football scores by espn.com. I see my Spiders are winning! :)

I share your pain...
Bought a new-to-me boat, and haven't had a single free day for two weeks! I get this weekend off, and the weather is awful! UGH!!!!!

Sunday morning: Persistant NNE winds at 20 to 25. That is one ugly river, I can feel the waves hitting the bulkhead, feels like they are testing at Dahlgren. Boom! Tides are not running as high as they said they were going to though. This wind is pushing water out of the Bay. It has not stopped raining here since Thursday. And my Terps lost and part of me hopes the stinkin' Redskins do the same. It would be a regular tri-fecta.

Fishing was pretty nasty on Gywnsisland last night. It was a bad fishing weekend.
