How hard is it to redo them? Have not touched them since Ive owned the boat(5years). Anyone have experience with them?I love doing the work on my 4.3 v6 but this may be more than I can handle. Thanks in advance

The whole reason for freshwater is not to have problems. Why are you replacing them? If you're heat exchanger cooled, and the risers are saltwater, that's where the problems start.

Ok so your telling me that they should be ok since engine is FWC?I thought they still only lasted 6years or so. I have no problems but just wanted to do them before they start to leak and then its a new engine instead of just manifoilds. Thanks for your help.

Check risers as even if your manifolds are fwc your risers are still saltwater cooled. Also check bolts on manifolds as they tend to rust. If they come out easy I would replace them with new grade 8 bolts.

My motor is a 1989, original manifolds still like new. The risers have been replaced several times - about 5 years max for them.
