Left Oi @ 0530. Very nice day on the water, arriving at the Tuna Hole around 0715. Ton of small boats and charters. Set the spread and immediately hook up on a Yellowfin around 20 lbs. Steady fishing with 2 yellowfin and 3 blacks in the box by 1100. Had a few short bites. All the fish were on the smaller side. Heard of a good bite further South so we picked up and made a short run South of the point.
You could see bait jumping everywhere but only managed to find small blackfins.
Late in the afternoon, we picked up a false albacore which we kept for bait.
The ride back in was nice. Great day on the water.

We were out there too. Got 2 falsies early and a nice wahoo late to save the day. What did the tuna bite on for you? Got the wahoo on the planer with b/p ilander on wire south of the point. We saw tons of fish airing out but no luck getting them to bite. The nice weather and the pilot whale show really added to the beautiful day. Nice catch!!! Martin

Heard you guys on the radio...60lb wahoo is a nice fish...we had a couple short bites that were probably from a wahoo. We got all the yellowfins on pink seawitchs with medium ballyhoo, the blackfins were all caught on a green soft head, no ballyhoo. We were north of the tuna hole in 50 fathoms, water temp dropped from 82.9 to 82.0 very quick, I think the temp break there was the ticket. We worked that same area all morning with great results.

We came out passed the gulf tower and then hit the break just shy of the 100fathom line. The first break from the upper 60'sF to 80F looked interesting but we saw boats ahead and continued on to the big group. Were you east of the big group of boats. I only got temps to 80.9F never 82. Had a green chain on one short rigger and pink on the other and the pink got a falsie. Ilander on one long witch on the other long, small pink ilander on flat one side and blue the other and rounded out bird g/m shotgun and planer. Had a couple short bites we figure small fish. Thats fishin! Next time we will get the load!!! Martin
