Anyone been out lately in upper bay? Are there any crabs still left lingering? I am think either Back River by Rocky Point or Patapsco River by Key Bridge. Any info is appreciated.

Last Sunday, I was one river south (Magothy) of your area and struggled in the wind to get 13 in about 3 hours (same area two weeks before got 3/4 bushel in 2 hours). Crabs were deep 14 to 17, nothing shallow. Surface water temp was 54. The north winds stop the tide from moving. So that may have been a factor. I'm gonna give my last try of the season this weekend also. Good Luck.

I haven't heard any recent reports for the northern bay. I do know that they escaped the West River within the past week.

Farther south they are still hanging on despite very clear water.

I'm going again, but it'll mean a 90+ mile drive each way.
I recommend you go south if you want more than a boat ride.
Good luck.

Crabbed at Rocky Point last Sunday and caught about 2/3 of a bushel. Lots of small crabs, probably 2 small to every keeper. Crabs were rusty and full, tasted great. I ran a trotline in 10'-13' of water with the best crabs coming from the deeper section. Good luck if you go.
