I am exploring buying a digital camera for carrying while fishing and general photography in the outdoors. . Doesn't have to be the best, just tough and takes decent pictures. I've been looking at the Olympus line of waterproofs between $150-$200. Are these decent camera"s. Are there others that would be in this class that would be better. Any help ould be appreciated.

I have not used any of the Olympus line of waterproof camera's, but did find a few reviews at Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ (http://www.dpreview.com). Not to be stereotypical or judgemental, but $150-$200 seems a little low for a camera that will be durable as well as take quality pictures. I have been using a Canon PowerShot SX10 IS that I would store in a pelican case for boating/fishing pictures, but upgraded to a Nikon D3000. I've also used a small Sony Cyber shot, which was a 5.6 megapixel camera that I stored in a Mangrove plastic case. Both of the smaller camera's took great photos and were easy to store while on pack trips as well as fishing trips. If interested I can send you an email of the picture quality from the Sony and the Canon. I will be posting both of them on Craigslist as I rarely use them anymore.
Good Luck.
