fished the honga saturday morning. brought fly and light tackle rods with me. it was drizzly and windy all day but the shallows were somewhat productive with the incoming tide. not a hot and heavy day but action was pretty steady and conditions were diverse. channels held good schools of fish where verticle jigging worked well. the shorelines were productive but flies seemed to do better here than bass assasins. i think that with the combination of shallow and clear water makes the fish somewhat spooky now. i feel like the fish will get more reckless as water temps drop and the fall pattern really sets in. all in all a good saturday. caught stripers up to 20". i was hoping for a trout but oh well.
