I think you posted questionable stuff on a public site and got called on it. and being a public site its open to others veiws . longtail is just saying what he thinks .

bucks can not be shot on permits. all deer have to be tagged before moving .

there are to many deer i really don't care what or how many or how you kill them .

you asked thats what i think and i allways say what i'm thinking

I think Longtail is dead on. IM posts non-stop "hey, look at me posts", and then when someone looks, IM posses and moans about it.

Longtail seems alot more reasonable than IM.

You asked.

Thank you both!

I believe, in rare cases, bucks can be harvested. However, it is not in the manner general crop damage permits allow. Most cases nurseries are involved. If the landowner can prove that a certain buck or bucks are damaging trees....but even then, through special authorization, only specific bucks are targeted and its not a simple call in and tag, they must be accounted for with physical possession through the NRP. Perhaps NRP or someone more versed in this aspect of CDP's can chime in.

I am a reasonable and nice guy, as well as Ida Mae.....Im sure. I never said in any of my posts that you were not.

I think this post is very immature, though and I imagine your expecting those who like you, to string me up.

Its not necessary, nor is this post. I have posted my phone number pubically, if anyone of you would like to speak with me regarding this.

Thanks,
Chris

If you think someone did something illegal - report it. Don't argue over it on a forum, it's pointless.

If you feel someone has made an error and you want to help them understand, send a private message.

My opinion - what are forums for other than to ask questions, get answers, or boast about accomplishments?

Yes it was dragged on much longer than expected, but I think what appears to be a lack of respect for the deer you're killing may have bothered some such as myself and caused his original post (just a guess). I take plenty of deer and would never post a topic like Another Bites the Dust. Shooting a small buck over corn in your back yard, when you're obviously not lacking on meat will also ruffle some feathers. I generally keep my negative opinions to myself as they are just that and often don't depict what someone's character really is. I think the bottom line here is that there isn't a shortage of deer around here and all of the meat is obviously being used. That part I can certainly respect.

2 things, one of most importance:

1) I've never met Charlie myself, but everyone I've met that know him have described him as a good guy who respects wildlife. I do not know Charlie personally, but I'm not gonna judge him based on internet postings. If you don't like what he says, block him. I personally find his posts here and on other boards interesting and when he intends them to be, informative.

2) Please, for the love of god, don't let this board turn into the bickering mess on the main Chesapeake Board

I think longtail asked a lot of good questions and didn`t get many good answers....if you post on a board expect to be questioned every now and then....it`s not always "Way to go....Good job"......

Its a matter of hunting styles to a degree. If its BROWN its down attitude vs. Ethical harvest. Either should be done within the limits of the game laws for your area. Personally I think IM has been busted. Longtail is obviously well educated on the damage tags and it appears IM was trying to blow him off. which is typically what a guilty party tries first...bullying.
I like reading IM's posts and find humor in some of his posts but I am not a fan of "STACKEM HIGH" but thats just me. I have to agree with others on the bitching; Its nice to see this board being used more often. Lets concentrate on the HUNTING AND BRAGGING; it's a lot more fun!!!!! May Bullwinkle enter your crosshairs!

Geeze I think a little group therapy is in order here and ya'll need to hug it out!:eek2::D. Honestly who cares. I like pictures and don't mind looking at Ida's pics. I hunt places where a dead deer is a dead deer and I also hunt places that if you killed a four or six pointer you wouldn't be asked back. I, personally, think some of Ida's bucks are questionable and noticed someone actually asked Ida that question awhile back. BUT he stated he practices QDM (Quality Deer Meat) instead of QDM (Quality Deer Management) that is his buisness not mine and if you are thrying to do some crop damage control then knock 'em dead fer sher. The bottom line is it appears to me that each and every deer is used for food with very little wasted. Killing deer to extract backstraps and chucking the rest of it (which I have witnessed) pisses me off. If Ida wants to shoot whatever and uses it all then more power to ya big guy. Like that pile of oyster shells in that fish pic too. Thats one serious oyster bake.

Longtail, I noticed you posted something on the main board about being 500ft from blind during the early season. While correct it turned out to be quite a argument as well. Sometimes it's not what you say but how you say it. You'll learn quickly calling people out on TF is not the way to go around here. How does his deer killing affect you on the lower shore? I appreciate the info, and as you stated there was probably a better way to go about what you had to say. I agree take the high road next time. TF is for accomplishments and tips. Let see 'em all.

.....BUSTED....hardly.......got a problem on what i do...show me your badge....period.....if im wrong...i'll pay the consequences.......

Is it illegal only if you get caught by 'the man'?

This kind of 'tude is what leads to people keeping undersized fish, over the limit, culling rock. Reminds me of ole Buddy Harrison. "Show me your badge, or else get out of my face". Not a part of the Tidalfish credo. And this is exactly how one person doing something on the lower shore DOES affect someone on another part of the shore.

This message board is not about keeping track of any body's fish or game. It is not about challenging some body to see if they have had a deer damage permit or a hook and line license. If a person feels the need to challenge some one else, it should be done in a private message. I was challenged by longtail that I didn't have deer damage permits when in fact I have had them for 20 years and have sent my kill tags into the DNR for 20 years and they have a record of it. I was challenged on the board and my response is here to clear MY reputation as a legal and ethical hunter. This type of behavior borders on slander and is punishable by law. People need to watch what they say and do on a public board as this affects peoples reputations. If you feel the need to keep watch on others activities on this board, you need to apply to be a Natural Resource Police officer or call them direct to report illegal activity. Calling some one out on this board needs to stop. Enjoy the board for what it is..............Gary

Makes me kinda leery of posting pics/reports. Now I guess I have to post a pic of a small doe before I shoot another buck due to "earn a buck" regulations where I hunt. I need to get a small doe for the landowner, that's what she wants me to shoot and process for her. Now I'll be freaked out, someone will say I'm shooting "Bambi", or someone will accuse me of "selling" meat, or if I do get a nicer buck, I'll have to explain that I did shoot a doe before. If someone wants to call them out, do it in private, or better yet, don't do it at all. BTW, I've met Charlie a few times, nice guy, help you out, share his knowledge, tell you where the bite is, etc. I know that HE is not a tool at all. Mark

Gary,
You keep popping into this and acting like an innocent victim....like I have done nothing but attack you over and over, yet, it has been you that has been attacking me over and over. It has been YOU, that choose to get involved into this. Now accusing me of slander (which, by the way, is really considered Libel...not slander), when in fact, I dont think I said anything in any of my posts about how you harvest your game and truely wish someone in your house will take your keyboard away. You just do not know when to, for lack of better terms (and with all due respect) SHUT UP! Even though I wasnt wrong, I laid a very fair final comment to put this to rest, several times and you just keep running on.....complaining about enjoying the board.

Whether you like it or not. If you post pictures and stories on the web, you better have all your facts straight, and in this case it appears some of you didnt. Thats not my fault, thats your fault...and because of that....I have to know, defend myself on a thread about everyones' opinion of me.

Since you cant let it go...Are you the landowner of the land you exercise your permits on?

The "high road" is not actually a road at all....more like a foot path and I would of thought Id of seen alot more people on it.
