Anyone know of a decent Yamaha mechanic in St. Mary's County?

Try Cather Marine in Colton's Point. Guy up there is honest and knowledgeable. It is a drive, though.

Thanks I looked them up and got the number. They are about 15 minutes from me, so not far at all. You don't remember his name do you?

I am lousy with names, sorry. He may not have even introduced himself.
Here is my experience with them: one year I had an oil injection failure. Their mechanic explained to me what was happening and sold me some used parts to get my boat working. Next year I tried to buy some carb rebuild kits from him and he explained to me why I didn't need them, and what maintenance I really should be doing.
So he has saved me a fair bit of money by finding ways to not work on my boat and not sell me the most expensive parts.
Now, I go up there a couple of times a year to buy Ring Free.

Thanks SS, I called and they have a 3-4 week waiting period. I'm just gonna go ahead and give it a shot as well as change plugs, lower unit oil, w/f seperator, fuel lines. See what I have then see if I still need to have him look at it.
Or maybe put it back together for me [grin]
