Anyone getting rid of their flying gaff? Am in the market and willing to pay reasonable price for a used one in decent shape. Trying to avoid paying full retail for a new one if someone is getting rid of their's. Perferably in the Hampton Roads area.

BTW....who has the read on the weather. Everytime I think I see a window for offshore it closes up the closer we get to it. Caught some schoolie striper over the weekend but I want to hear some drag peeling from a 50W.

yeah I got two full flyer setups and I suppose I could part with one of them. They are both the big aftco handles with (I think) 10'' hooks and 20' of 1/2'' rope. One is brand new.

Mine came with a harpoon tip too but still have never had call to use it. I keep it aboard just in case I ever catch that monster from the deep. Looks like it would be fun to use but a little tricky with no practice. PETA will love that. :D martin

You might want to consider a harpoon instead. Flying Gaff gives a Mako shark just enough line to jump in the boat with you, that's probably not the kind of excitement you have in mind when swordfishing.

I'm following up with a gentlemen selling a flying gaff / harpoon combo where the flyer and dart fit on the same pole. If this falls through I'll give Jake a call. Thanks for all the input guys.

This weekend is showing potential to get out there.
