Solution to engine noise post

This may sound strange but the carb was dumping fuel at low idle and after the engine was off . This thinned out the oil causing a tapping noise in the valvetrain. Carb Rebuilt, oil changed and problem solved. Still trying to get the carb adjusted just right but it is almost there.

Thats good to hear but I'm tring to figure out how the gas could get into the oil. Was it filling up the cylinders and leaking down around the pistons? Thats the only way I can figure gas could get into the oil.
