I have a 2 stroke 6cyl.200 John that's not firing on 1 cylinder?I swapped the plug & wire from another cylinder that is firing and it still is not fireing? What do you suppose the problem is?It's an oldie 87 but goodie...til now?

I'm not a Johnson person so I don't know what type of ignition is on them. Coil or ignition module would be suspect depending on which you have. If you have manual and VOM you can usually check the ignition, except some ignition modules.

What's the compression in the cyclinder. If you swapped the plug and coil and the suspect one is working where you swapped it from them the plug and coil are good. Either the coil isn't getting a trigger to fire or there isn't fuel, or there isn't compression.

I didn't think that compression would keep it from fireing?
