Finally caught some nice fish trolling the Rap today. Caught two nice fish trolling right in the middle of the river between Urbanna Creek and buoy 8. Caught the 27 inch on a storm bait behind a no. 3 metal planer, and a 40 incher on the mojo big bait chartruese.

You sure do know me, Bridgette. I have down at your boatyard helping Perry Lyons work on his sailboat. By the way you can print my pics for your board there at the office.

Ok cool thanks. Now I remember. Yes Perry is here. He's a nice man. So aren't you. Going to go fishing this weekend? Is the weather suppose to be nice?

Not sure about the weather this weekend but I am going out again tomorrow before the wind starts up tomorrow night. I fish mostly on week days and leave the weekends to the other guys. The fishing will just get better now that they are arriving.

Funny what happens when you don't even plan to fish. Today I drove down to White Stone (from Richmond) around lunch-time to check on the charge I set for the batteries on my BW that had run down when the "radio guy" who worked on my boat on Friday accidentally turned on one of the deck light switches (which killed the batteries). I went back today just to check the batteries plus the radio that was being worked on. Well, the radio not only worked, but there was a bit of chatter about birds out north of Windmill. Next thing you know, I'm out there looking for the birds and found a dozen or so boats and WHAM! I threw in a top lure and within seconds it was fish on. Now, if it was only this easy every time!...was back in Richmond by 4:30. (long lunch, I know)

Oh by the way. I released the 40 incher alive and well for another day.

Thats Mike's (Lucky Liz) Favorite trolling pattern he does well on the planers too. Josh and I didn't get to fish this weekend due to company from out of state but will proably be out there a while Sunday (Deer hunting Sat). Good to hear of that 40 incher. Any sea lice on that fish or a resident?

I think both fish were locals. No sea lice and no sores on either fish.

Glad to hear the fish are finally showing up but after today, it looks like we will be in port for a few days. Check your dock lines with high tides coming

Boy, that river looks nice and flat! How come its always 4-6 feet and gusting to 35mph when I can get out there?

Nice fish. Roughly how deep were you pulling that Mojo? Thanks - mg

Well I am working on that. Bear with me. I want to put a web cam out there so you can check it out and see what the Rappahannock is doing. How does that sound?

On the 9th I was pulling the big mojo in about 35 feet of water and I was hugging the bottom when the big fish hit. Today I switched gears and went shallow water right off of Christ Church. I caught two nice slot fish on no. 2 planers and storm bunkers in about 25 feet of water.
