Whats your opinion on using pvc or conduit for the frame of a boat duck blind? Will be using evary real grass and hunting in salt water.
Thanks

Not a good idea. You will not be happy. Get wood 1 x 2 furring strips. Salt treated will be better. Must be dried before using. (Less warping) No knots. Clear wood grain. You will be happy with this.

Conduit or emt will work just fine. main thing you might want to do is paint it every year but thats a no brainer. Wood will add more weight and it wont last as long.

I made a shore blind out of PVC. Had to use 2" ID pipe (heavy) for it to be rigid enough. Has to be painted, then touched up annually, no biggy. Fittings can get expensive. Still it worked out OK.
I'd spring for a Cabela's/BPS pop up blind if possible they are pretty slick.

I have made a conduit frame before and I was pleased with it. it is subject to bending, but its cheap and easy to replace bent sections. it was a pair of long, 12 foot straight sections of conduit supported by two vertical sections at each end, attached with a 90 degree elbow. i attached camo material to the straight sections and draped the camo material over the side of the boat. the two vertical sections slid into larger vertical PVC tubes attached to the bulkheads in the jon boat. I wish I had pictures but i don't. I hope i described it well

i used metal conduit for mine and hit it with a coat of rustoleum and used the mud buddy design as a reference. if you call mud buddy they will sell you the front and rear brackets needed to attach to the boat. i think they charged me $30 for both. borrow or rent a bender to make your four bends and cut it to the height you want. very simple very cheap very sturdy. i put the flip lids on mine but it works great without them as well. we just use fast grass panels and what ever natural cover we are hunting in. good luck

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout: K.I.S.S.
Uncomplicated, inexpensive, effective.

Great pictures. I think I'll make the same type in my old boat.

think it ended up running me about $100 for everything which was great in comparison to the exact same thing from some of the big name places for $400+ i have had a avery quick set, mud buddy fast grass and custom full enclosure blinds on other boats and i have found this works best for trailering and running.

Built mine this way and love it. I hunt the eastern shore out of a 16ft jon with a 25hp Merc.
