Any of you guys who fish the james for big blues plan your trips on or around the moon phases? As in full or new. Ive fished there during the full with fish breaking all over the top of the water and we would get all kind of nibbles and bites but nothing would actually take the bait. Ive also fished saltwater and slayed fish two days in a row at the same spot only to come back the third and barely catch 1, with the moon staring me dead in the face. What is your guys take on moon phases? Appreciate any feedback,
Bill

I tracked a bunch of variable in a fishing log for a year a while back. My conclusions were- 1st 2 and last 2 hours of any tide with outgoing being better, live bait outfished dead bait, either rising or falling water temps seemed better (steady temps for days were slow), and a new moon or cloudy nights were better than bright moonlit nights.
