Plan on taking my son this weekend to N. Neck. Have not been down for awhile and need some help. Any suggestions of where on the lower Rap or the Potomac (Lewisetta) I would
have the best chance for some rockfish. Bringing the 18' skiff so I won't be heading out
into the big water for safety reasons. Any creek mouths or bays (fleets bay?) that may
hold fish this time of year & if so which boat landing/marina is closest to it. Have not fished the Rap in years, spent most of my time on the Pot.-Lewisetta before selling the
23' this past spring. Also, any suggestions on hotels in your suggested area?
Appreciate your comments, will post a report next week. Mike

If you go out to Smith Point Marina you can fish the mouth of the Little Wicomico. The smaller boats have been fishing it the last 5weeks with good results although most fish are the 16-20" type. A lot of throwbacks but they usually get there limit. You need a smaller boat to fish it as the channel is narrow and you have to manuever around so the big boats can come and go. It's well protected and when we came back yesterday around 3:30 there were 4 boats we passed fishing it and 3 landed fish as we went by. They cast small jigs and some live bait. There is also a motel on rte. 360 just a couple of miles from there-don't know how it is, just know it's there. Hope this helps.

The Potomac off Lewisetta has been smokin for the last 10 days.
