After buying my lifetime PA license and trout stamp I decided to scout out some fishing spots on the yellow breeches in the little village of Boiling Springs. Didn’t see many fishermen but I could see many nice size trout in the larger pools. I understand The Yellow Breeches anglers & conservation association (they have a web page) stock trout in the YB 7 times a year with their clubs nursery grown stock. Anyway I took the old Kodak box camera along and snapped a few shots that I thought some might enjoy.

A little father down the road is a state run trout hatchery located in Huntsdale, which is open to the public, so off I went with the box camera.
A pool of these Hugh fish was outside the visitors center in a very shallow pool.

I found this poor guy lying next to one of the pens, dead of course. Notice the mark on the upper part of the gill plate. I believe this is one of there breeding stock and that mark may be an id tag inserted there. Who knows? I do know that it had to go at least 4 pounds or more and would be a trophy on the end of anyone’s tippet.

My grandmother lived on Pine road, so I had the pleasure of growing up with the Breeches a short walk from her front porch. Didn't really appreciate it then though!!
