Trolled the Lower Potomac near green buoy #9 and north of there in main channel. Marked some bait and fish returns in deeper water 50' to 60' and caught 3 fish. First 24 1/2" on the Stormbrella out 275ft. Caught 37 1/2", 21.8Lbs on a 28oz white mojo with white 9"shad which I use for weight to pull white umbrella off a three way swivel. The mojo/shad lure itself was 13" long and the big fish wanted it. Had 70ft of line out on this rig. Last fish a 22" on the Stormbrella rig again which I returned to water to get bigger. Done fishing by noon. Sunday I went out with a dock neighbor on his boat who wanted to see how planer boards were run. Used my folding boards and shower curtain clips/rubber bands. I showed them the black Scotty clips that I normally used but they wanted to see how the rubber bands worked. Had three rods on each board and two rods down deep off back of boat. Marked a lot of bait in same area I fished on Saturday but no fish caught and back to dock by 11AM since a couple of the other guys needed to head back home early. Mainly just a planer board lesson and they are eager to build some and use them next weekend.

Pic of my Saturday's catch.

Hey Dave I talked to you on the radio on Saturday

We got out about nine on Saturday and headed out to number 9 and set out towards number 7. Had a knockdown on a Stretch 25 mullet before getting the fifth and final line out. 20 minutes later the same line hooked up and we had the fish at the boat but mishandled it trying to get it in and lost it, probably 28 - 30 inches. We were encouraged and hoped for a good day. After that it stop for a long time which matched what was being said on the radio. Marking lots of fish in the 45 - 55 foot of water between number 9 and Point Lookout. After two we heard some good reports up the river at Ragged Point so we shot up there with the plan to troll back down river for the next hour or so before heading in. In the first 15 minutes hooked up and landed a 25 inch fish, this was on a second line with the same kind of stretch. Had several more knockdowns on the same two lines. No touches on the other three lines out that day. Got back in to Lodge Landing to trailer the boat as the sun set.

Long day but it was the first day out in about 5 week, I hope to get out 1 or more other days this year.

Dave, do mind if I call you on your cell sometime?

Nice Job Dave!

You going to be down this weekend? I think we are going to do one last trip. WX looks like it's going to blow hard on Friday. Hopefully it will calm down for the weekend.

Happy Turkey Day!!!

Chilli, This weekend will probably be my last fishing trip of the year. Hope the weather will be OK to fish Sat and Sun. Good Luck if you get out. I heard (talked with him on radio and read his report on the PRAC site) there was a bunch of fish caught at the mouth of the Potomac. Top water fish up to 30 inches and some other fish trolling.

John, You can call my cell. I have talked with other members before. I am retired so I am usually available from 9 am to 9 pm on the cell.
