TKAA ideas!!!

Just to throw out a few more ideas for the club. How many are interested in a logo and stickers, hats, etc. I suggest we do a monthly (or whatever interval we decide on) tourney and use a rodeo format. A rodeo style tournament starts and ends over a period of time and doesn't limit peoples participation based on there scedule so more people can fish it. I also think we should use the CPR (catch, photo, release) format with the killing of the fish also being optional for the member as long as it is legal. An example would be starting Friday after dark and ending at 4:00 pm on sunday or even one that last the entire week or entire month. Similar to the citation progarm but at shorter durations. We could develop a points system and use it for our Angler of the Year. Again, these are just a few ideas and please post your ideas as well.

Most clubs have a year-long tournament. The club I belong to give awards on a monthly and yearly basis. They have "fish of the month" and anglers who make a really spectacular catch get a club jacket, it's pretty much the only way you can get a jacket. At the end of the year they have a big banquet and give out a pile of trophys and plaques. Something like that might be fun.

As far as the tourney goes it sounds cool but not for me. I fish for food, relaxation, and to be on the water. I don't care to compete or have any trophies on my wall. I get all the competition I want at work and I can deal with that since it gets me $.

My idea may sound hookie. Can we get some of those round 'OBX' style stickers like every other group has? TKAA with it spelled out below. It would help to get our name out.

Stickers would be a great idea...would also provide some funds for running the club if we got a bunch and sold for $2 or $3 each.

Great site for the stickers. Since the club cannot buy anything yet, can we decide on a common format for anyone that wants to buy some now to promote and hand out. I am willing to by 50 once an agreed style is picked.

If everyone that has showed up to the meetings and those that signed up at the CAA show buy just 1 we should sell out of 50 real quick. Then we would have extra cash flow to buy more and hats. Then everyone can buy a second sticker (one for the bumper and one for your kayak.).
