Hunted today with my club near Emporia and a member shot this deer. Check out its head very unusual and it had very short legs, He also shot a nice buck the night before I guess he is on a roll.

I bet the VA game commission would be interested in that. It looks like a crossbreed between and goat and a deer, but I don't think that's possible. Does VA have any other type of wild deer besides white tail like Maryland? Any zoos or farms around with exotic animals? I don't see pink eyes so it doesn't appear to be an albino...

It's just a result of imbreeding. That's why its white with a roman nose. Sometimes they're just roman nosed with an overbite, or piebald with the roman nose. There is no new breed or cross there, just a result of imbreeding. Rgminer are you serious??

Yep,

Back when we had too many deer on one farm I hunt we had a bunch of piebalds just like that. I killed 3 in about 3 years, all bucks like that one with the same short noses and short legs and actually all bones were short. Not quite as much white on the ones I killed but more white than brown. We finally weeded them out and we've not seen one there in about 3 years. We used to watch the other deer interact with them and they always shunned them and I watched several fights where the other deer would get up on their hind legs and start kicking and pushing these piebalds around. It was very peculiar behavior.

Good example of a piebald deer. That one is almost completely white, but definitely a piebald.

I shot a 4 pointer all white in Brunswick Co. years ago, a 5 pointer and 2 doe (all piebalds) in Suffolk. This year on the trail cam, a 6 pointer, 3 pointer, and 1 doe all piebalds.

that deer is a piebald deer for sure. My club in south hampton kills one like that every year. if you see them shoot them. sometimes they have lower jaws smaller than the upper one and sometimes they turn out like this because they are inbred.

We killed two piebald in New Kent County years ago. Both had underbite and hump nose. Mine had been gored in the hind-quarters, the antlers were yellow, puny and hollow like chicken bones. The deer appeared stunted for one with antlers and the meat smelled funny so 'over-the-hill' it all went. At least they were removed from the gene pool.
A couple of years later, there was another killed that was ~90% white. He had all the previously mentioned traits, was even more stunted and gaunt with ribs showing and numerous wounds from goreings.
According to a game biologist, they were deer with genetic faults probably from line-breeding. Not cross-breeds with anything else

We killed the second one for this season yesterday in Charles City County. 60+ pounds, 99% white - had brown ears and 3-4 1" brown spots on each rear leg. No humped nose, no pink. Seemed healthy and not beat up or gored.
