Looking to buy a new propane burner(maybe Santa will bring one). Saw a jet burner at the Crabfest looked like it did a good job. Checked out Cajunshoppe.com they looked pretty good 100,000 BTU , price is reasonable also. Any input from members ???

This is one of the ones that we used at crabfest

note that with this brand the regulator/hose assembly must be ordered seperatly

I also had one of these

mine is an older model ,it did not come with a heat shield, which is probably necessary if you use it on a flamable surface, but I use it on a concrete surface.
the price on this one includes the hose & regulator
King Kooker: Item Details (http://www.kingkooker.com/detail.php?ID=170)

both brands of them work well for me, performance wise ,there is no difference between them,
I have used jet burners almost exclusively for many years, simple design, hot fire

I have a new Bayou Classic S-10 High Pressure in the box that will be used next season. Seems like the going price for these is around $40.00.

Dale,

What is the list price for TriState Marine Classic S-10 ? Depending on the price I might want to get another one.;-)

I bought one from Discount Hunting Gear, Discount Hunting Boots, Discount Shoes, Discount Ammunition, Discount Ammo, Discount Boots, Military Surplus, Outdoor Gear At the Sportsman's Guide (http://www.sportsmansguide.com).
Not a bad price and they have a decent selection.

Last August I ordered a Double Jet Burner with 20psi regulator Item # SP-2 from Bayou Classic.
With shopping It was $63. I've owned many burners but without a doubt this one is the best. With the double cone burner this thing soulds like a Rocker Ship taking off!
John $40 is the going price on single cone jet burrners with a 20 psi regulator
I would recomand spend the extra $20 and don't look back!

I don't know what the apeal of jet burners is.

I got an SP10 (list $57) this summer, it is 185,000BTU (sounds like a jet engine), it's very heavy duty construction, comes with a heat shield so you can actually use it on lower settings in the wind if needed, and uses a ring burner rather than a pin-point flame which has got to be better for heat distribution. It comes with a 48" braided stainless hose & propane tank adapter.

It's on sale now at amazon.com for $40 w/free shipping (Amazon.com: Bayou Classic SP10 High-Pressure Outdoor Gas Cooker, Propane: Patio, Lawn & Garden (http://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-SP10-High-Pressure-Outdoor/dp/B000291GBQ)) which is a great deal.

I see the Bayou Classis single jet is 55,000 (list for $40 - $43 amazon free ship) and the double jet is 210,000 (list $62 - $43 amazon free ship) - marginally more BTU for more money and less features...
