had the chance to get out for a few hours today and decided to fish the bay bridges since they're closer to home than some of my usual haunts. brought my friend's tarpon 120 instead of my ultimate 12.

paddled out about 1.5 miles and didn't mark much on my fish finder. conditions were great: temps in the 50s, barely a breeze, and overcast skies. only problem was that the tide was dead and probably would pick up for another hour or 2. i worked the pilings for about 2 hours before i started heading in. no fish on bass asassins.

i ran into a few other tidalfishers and talked on the water for a few minutes. i was on my way back in and they were just starting up.

steve, hope you guys slayed them today. i considered turning around and following you guys on my way in. i took a look at your prowler after i loaded up. i think i like the old prowlers more than the new tridents. let me know if you go out again before the end of the year.

You must have been on the south side. I fished out of Kipto from 11 pm to 2 am and at times my fish finder would show as little as 5' when I was in 25' due to all of the bait in the water... Sorry to say I don't have a catch to report, maybe next time...

Bret,
Great to meet you and put a face to a name.

My friend Jim & I meandered out to the ESRP, picking off a few dink schoolies on the way. By the time we arrived, there was finally some incoming current. As the flood tide increased, the fish activity did too and we each caught a dozen or so fish- but only dinks. We headed back in just before sunset and I caught a couple more fish of the pilings. Although the fish were small, it was a calm, beautiful, and enjoyable day on the water. AS far as actually catching fish is concerned, I think it's time to head south.

I have a second Prowler as well. If you're at all interested, drop me a PM and we can take it from there.

Steve

seeknfin,
we were at the bay bridges up north near kent island, not the bay bridge tunnel. sorry to hear you didn't get into any fish either. the good news is that all our fish are heading your way.

steve,
nice meeting you too and glad you got into some fish, even if they were undersize. sending you a pmail about your prowlers

Hey Brett

Thanks for the report. Steve and you must be some of the guys I have been seeing when driving across the bridge. I have seen quite a few kayakers fishing the eastern shore side on the bridge, cool that you guys are doing that. Just be careful, those kayaks look really small out there;-)

Looking forward to reading more of your reports
