MJP Sunday Rapp report

Weather report was too rough for the charter so Josh and I pulled out around 7am. Until around 10 or so and it was sporty but layed down as the day went on. He and I were limited out by 9:30 with 4 fish and We kept two in the live well as we had switch over to Buba baits but basically C&R fishing. I was reading a post on how some of you feel about this but we keepem lively and actually traded one fish out for one for a smaller 19" fish that if we had of C&R would have died as the fish had the bait hung int its gills and had torn one out and bleeding like a hog. Ended up catching 12 which was far bellow our normal 40 plus and the bite died out around 11:30. Heard it was slow in the bay also but Im hoping just Moon and weather causing the problem. Heard of a 38 caught up by 6 which sounded like a decent bite down there and a Friend caught a 40 " just bellow 8 on a fire tiger stretch. We caught a 26" on a small stretch intimidator and the rest of our fish came dead off the bottom on the two steels with double 6" shad. Hoping the fishing picks back up this week with the moon falling off. By accident I ran across the Com guy with the nets out at 10 at Center Cross texaco before fishing Sunday. He said he had caught his qota and was pulling that net up this week so that should make it a little easier fishing that area.

Thanks for the report....ain't nothing wrong with C&R .... Fishing is about catching and the fight.... lighter the tackle the better... I also Cull with the live well and many times I just take what I can eat.... I'm not a big fan of 2 month old frozen fish, so if I don't eat it fresh it gose back to be caught again... Phishphinder I'm with you on that fresh fish. My family complains about two week old frozen but thats good for me and Josh as we get more Kitchen passes to go fishing. Wife even fed the rabbit dogs for us before we got home when I told her make room in the frig for some Rockfish fillets. Speckle trout is her favorite so I guess Josh and I will have to MAKE ourselves go speck fishin this week sometime. Looking fwd to your report.
