Well after several cold days early this year I received a call to head South for the Winter on the Warrior. We had a schedule to leave the day after Thanksgiving, but the weather held us back. Left Saturday to bumpy NW 25 knot winds, but a 50 Hatteras blasted thru it. Ducked in at OI and ran the IC to Morehead. It was beautiful. Weather Man calls for light winds again and it was blowing again till around noon then laid out for smooth sailing to Charleston, SC. Leave Charleston with a forecast of light winds to find 15 to 20 knots right in our face till noon then lays out again on our way to St Aug, Fl. Half way to St Aug the Shorts and Flip Flops are brought out. Man it felt good. Winds light and variable again for our run to Palm Beach and wake up to 20knot NE Winds. Thank god it was at our back. Make it down the coast 20 miles and lays out for another day of shorts and flip flops. Make it Palm Beach and our new home at Soveral Harbor. I cannot wait to fish and am flying back South next week for a few days of boat work and maybe a day of fishing.
I hope we can get on the sailfish bite this year like they had last year. Would be nice to chip off the ice once and a awhile for some warm summer fishing.
