Got a call from a buddy Mark Buckly wanting to go out with Danny on the Point Runner and decided to give it a whirl. After closing the bar in Williamsburg get out at 245 am and make it to the dock at 5:15am. Lead the pack out to the point with the water temp at 72.9 when lines go in. No more then 5 minutes in the water we go 2 for 2 on 25 lb class YFT. After that its all you want. 5 for 7 3 for 5 so on so on. Back at the barn by 2 with a nice limit of YFT. We fished from the 510 up to the 570 with water ranging from 72.9 to 76 degrees. The fishing were being study picked up and down the line and ate every bate in the water. I can't say enough about the operation Danny and Greg run. Top notch and extremely fun and laid back guys. If you get a chance to fish down in OI you will not regret booking these guys and there beautiful boat.

Limit of YFT

I would like to drop a jig in some of that pretty blue water on some of that action.

Looks like a blast.

Pretty work guys!! Thanks for the call Pat. Wish I could get down there. Still too busy with work but gonna try around Christmas time if the weather will allow. Lot's of talk about a possible coastal winter storm around the 20th or so from some well respected Met's & if so will also keep me from making it back down but would be good for work. Just hope it doesn't happen on Christmas eve-day or New years or I will be screwed trying to round up help. Never had that happen before & hope It never does.

Great sign to have steady winter pups this year. Those fish will be nice fatty's by next summer if they hang around & are every bit as good as it gets for this time of the year.

Wouldn't it be Awesome if they stay around all winter like in some years past & mix with the early March Bluefin. Now that would be some fishing right there!!!!

Thanks for the great report & also congrats to (Pointrunner's) Danny & Greg for once again staying in the meat.

I saw Rom (Release) was is them also from down below so I would say the fish are right thick & gonna snap this time of the year considering the minimal pressure on them.

Man you dont realize how bad your spelling and grammer gets when you are up for 40 hrs and fighting tunas until you read it the next day.

Bill can't wait to get out there with you soon. Hope you get all your equipment dialed in for the massive snow storms I hope u get.

Wanted to jig on the tunas but there were not a ton of marks and when there were we had 5 or 7 rod melee to deal with. Next time I'm just gunna drop when the fish hit.

Good luck out there guys

Very nice.....WTG dude.

I've only been striper fishing for a couple of weeks now and I'm already bored with fishing in the ugly pea soup bay waters. I want to get out into some blue water fishing. The weather has been sooo crappy though.

Well Done Pat, congrats on your catch...gotta love it when there are soooo many multiples, you don't have time to close fish box door.

Pat,

Gwen just sent me this report from another form. Now all I can find is reports and pictures of you guys and your fish. There are also pictures on the OI fishing center web site. Nice job hammering them.

Mike,

I hear ya about the ugly water. Hopefully this week will settle down and get into a steady pattern on the bay and offshore. GL
