Missed Kev's call this week, but he left a message. I couldn't make out where he was, but he's gotten through Tampa and on his way to the Everglades. Crossing Tampa Bay, he saw huge tarpon rolling on the surface, "Like Dolphin," he described it. He through everything in his tackle box but got no love. At one point a huge fish surfaced next to him and opened its huge mouth. "I could have dropped a lure right in," he said, "but the thing would have killed me!" Kevin has enjoyed a few days of tailwinds but will have to suffer through a few days of bad weather this week. He's rolling south, one stroke at a time.

Oh to be a free spirit. I know we are all envious of his journey....at least I am.

Did he bring a weather band radio? Looks as if he's about to hit more than the breeze he's been up against so far.Hope he's aware and can find suitable shelter.

He's got his VHF with NOAA weather and an AM Radio for company. He's got a tent for shelter. I guess a rope and a lifevest are his back-up plan. I saw the storm track in the paper this morning, lets hope it goes left! He told me that he was going to lay low for a few days until it passes. If you got it, cross it and hope we'll hear from him on the other side.
