I killed this deer friday evening, lucked out. My portable was set up on a edge of a thicket, and it was flooded about 4 inches. I figured the deer wouldn't travel through there so I faced with my back to the thicket. The first night I hunt I saw about 20, so i figured i was in a good spot. The next evening I shot myself two does because we needed to thin them out before anything. Friday evening I went back fixing to shoot a few more does. Had two spikes walk by I let them go, then two does came by one of them which had a leg barely attached to her. I tried to get a shot but she was just out of range. At about 4:50, I was texting on my phone, heard a splash behind me, looked, and there he was about 25 yards behind me. I saw him then he was directly behnind a tree, I took my gloves off, turned around, as soon as he stepped out I looked and saw he was a shooter. Put him down with one shot at about 2o yards, the wind was blowing and I didnt think the deer will move. This goes to show anything can happen.
