i ended up launching at chicks beach and fishing the small boat channel...................i had one 12 inch bluefish after 4 hours of fishing, tough conditions to deal with too. the tide was bucking the wind which made everything tough.

the wind and 2 to 3 feet is why i went to hrbt. lots of croaker, small flounder, and one small skate.
