Left Reedville at 0700 in clear skies but heading to SP we came into really thick fog, so glad I had radar, a new addition this year. The huge marks of bait I saw on saturday 12/12 were gone from 63a to the SP and to the eastern channel edge. But trolling with no bait around still found 3 fish 40-44 and 5 more 22-28's. While in the fog only white produced from a Tomic, umbrella, and 6 in tandems. When the sun broke out all were on 4 oz green from the boards.
I heard guys down at the RP and Cut complaining about only small fish, very few fishing with me around SP.
The Potomac from 7 and 9 up to Ragged Pt is still producing. My neigbor caught a 45 weighing 35 lbs on saturday just below Bonum's Creek, caught on a green bullet jig with a 4 inch green shad as a tandem trailer.....thats been the hot bait for us...I trolled 5 of these Monday using 6 in chads
The Rappahanock is also producing I heard, I was at Whelan's Marine yesterday dropping off my crab skiff and I could see 2 doz boats trolling out in the river. The marina guys told me all the guys were coming back with limits of big fish.
I also fished Saturday at Smith Pt, lots and lots of bait, was hard to scratch out some decent fish but ended up with 5 big ones 35-39 and a few smaller,
