I hate to admit this but IMHO - the float raised oysters are much better then the ones off the bottom. They are literally busting the shell open when you open them.
Choptank sweets are awesome and the ones from Circle C are off the chart. Only trouble - now that word is out , more are being ordered then are grown. The price is higher but once you have some - you'll pay it.
Best local that I know of are from Tyler's seafood in Chesapeake Beach - about 1 1/2 hour for you. The owner is picky on what he buys/sells. Only trouble - they often sell out - best to call ahead.

I could use some oysters too, if you wanna get a bushel, we can meet at station, split them up and tap the rockies.

I have to agree with Skip...the Choptank Sweets, are AWSOME oysters....but at $50 for 100 oysters, as opposed to $45 a bushel (about 200 or more oysters), the miser in me wont allow it most of the time....haha...
I'm trying to learn to enjoy quality over quantity, but I just love a bargain too much!
