Got a call from Kayak Kevin as I was paddling out of Little Creek Inlet last weekend. He was in Everglade City and heading south. After the hurricane, he's had several days of northerly winds to push him down the coast, making 30 miles in one day! He's looking forward to paddling through the 'Glades and looking for 'gators while he goes. Fishing has been great, he's learned the secret to snook is fishing right behind the breakers. "If your knees get wet, you've waded in too far," he told me. Looking forward to hearing from him after the 3 inches of rain I've seen forecast for the Gulf over the last few days. He sounded amped to have already paddled 600 miles with only 100 miles to got until he rounds Key Largo and starts heading north again. One stroke at a time.
