Thought you guys might like to check out this water resistant camera. It is made by Bushnell, it is 3.2 megapixel with LCD display for only 179.99. I found it online.

The saying goes...You get what you pay for....that is especially true with digital cameras. And the fact that they chose the wording "water resistant" instead of "water PROOF to (X) meters" means it will likely die if any more than a couple drops land on the camera. Save your money, for a little more you can get a nice Canon....IMHO

Olympus cameras are water resistant and my ol' fishing buddy in MD has never had a problem with his. Being in a kayak is different though.
I looked into a waterproof case for my Nikon. At $200+ it would be cheaper to buy a waterproof film camera.
When I worked in MD I had a Minolta Vector Weathermantic. It used the APS film and had a zoom. I took it diving with me (for work of course) and I never had any problems with it. They don't make them anymore unfortunately and most of the waterproof cameras now don't have zooms.
I'm wanting a new camera for my kayak. The last time I took my Nikon out, the bluefish got spunk and flung water all over it. So it hasn't been out since.

I have the 2.0 megapixels Sony DSCU60 waterproof camera. I bought it from Ritz Camera for $150. It is supposed to be waterproof to 5 feet. I think it takes pretty good pics. Here is pic taken with the camera.

Here is a link to a review of the one I have been thinking about getting (Cybershot, DSC-U60, Sony ). Based on my research this one seems to be the cheapest true waterproof digital camera.
