Slow day

It was a nice day on the river, but the bite was slow. I was on the river at 8 o'clock and fished between bouy 8 and 11, marked bait and fish but could not get a bite. At 11 o'clock we made a run to R2 marked fish but no bait, we trolled for a couple hours and caught a 24 inch fish. Made the run back to 10, marked more bait and fish than I have seen all year, but still no bites. The water temp was 40 degrees. Maybe that has something to do with the slow bite.

Thanks for the report. Hopefully next week will be better but who knows. Was the creek still iced up?

yes it was fish finder, all the way to second red marker on the point

Thanks for the report. The York river was flat again this morning when I drove to work. Did you see any birds around R2? Looks like my last chance will be Monday. Have you tried stopping over the big schools of bait and jigging?

The only birds we saw were scattered singles diving.I will be going out Christmas eve and will try jigging then,sure hope it works.

I'll be out saturday and sunday and will either run up to Smith Pt or down to the Cut/RP or R2. Would appreciate any reports and will certainly pass on all I know. Crabber-One
