Does anyone know of someone local who can possibly fix my Garmin Gps. It just stopped working without warning like most do.

Garmin | Out Of Warranty (http://www8.garmin.com/support/outofwarranty.html)

Look up your unit and follow the instructions. I sent my back and I think they charged me $89 for the repair and I got my unit back in 2 weeks. Great deal I thought.

ditto from above.

be sure to pull all of your waypoints and other stuff off of it, because they will send you a refurbished unit; you will not receive the same one back.

Great deal, and ours got turned around in less than a month.

Can you explain stopped working? Will it boot up, find sat's, etc, or is it just dead?

My lowrance kept losing position and would not work. I did a "soft reboot" and now its fine. Ask the service person if garmin has a similar option. If not tell them you are a tournament fisherman and they usually put a rush on it.

The consensus is to send it back to factory or authorized repair station. This info ( addresses) can be gotten on the internet. I have sent depth finders back and they have been repaired quickly and efficiently within reasonable costs.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions!!! No the unit won't come on at all. I bought the boat used but the unit was working at one time, i checked to see if there was an in-line fuse but there is not one.. The unit is made by Garmin but this model isn't made anymore, should they still be able to fix it?

Look at their website:

it is all on there.

I would first check to see if there is power to the unit. Secondly check the website to find out how to reboot the unit. I've had issues with my Garmin and when I found the reboot sequence it cleared it up. One more thing to check is if it has the latest version of the software.

Good luck. These are all on their support website too.
