West neck creek

Paddled the West Neck Creek from 0600-1000 this morning with the wife. She didn't want to brave the weekend salt water traffic and its close to the ranch. Nice paddle and great fishing. Caught all the small bass and big panfish I wanted using a flyrod and small popper. Lot of fun watching them take it on that flat water.We were doing a lot better than the power boats we came across. Anyway, a nice relaxed outing before the heat of the day kicked in.

There's a marina on West Neck road right beside the bridge that has a ramp. He charges $3 to launch but its safe parking so not too bad. We headed out to the right under the bridge rather left towards the North landing. There's a few fixed duck blinds farther down as the river narrows and we had the best success around them, even spotted an eagle.
