View Full Version : Good Information Buy Your DC License
It's that time of year again to buy your DC Fishing License for 2010. For many folks finding a place to buy the DC license in a timely fashion is not easy. For the past couple of years I have gotten mine by filling out the form in the attached website and sending it to DC by snail mail. Takes at least 2 to 3 weeks if you do it now.

Jeez... wonder if we will need to register with the Feds for DC too???

If you're over 65 Howard, its my understanding that you don't need a DC license and that this applies to nonresidents.
Bill - I saw that on the DC license form. I still have two more years before I qualify.

Thanks for the info. The DC license thing is so back ass wards that they often will not ticket you until well into April if you don't have a license but I wouldn't count on it.
Some good fishing there all year. From the walleye somewhere up river to the power plants that often hold good numbers of schoolies all winter and especially early spring, to the March smallmouth at chain bridge that look like pregnant water melons to even the crappie in the canal. But the worst or best rather is when that last week of March rolls in during a warm spell, the cormorants can be seen perched on every island at low tide, small distinct ripples start occurring on the surface from flipping herring and acrobatic silver miniature tarpon start dancing on the end of our lines while most people are still suffering from cabin fever. That is when you don't want to be driving all over god’s creation looking for a fishing license.

Checks only for Harbor Police, no cash or credit, it's in a bad part of town or near one, can be a real pain to drive to, forget about anywhere near rush hour and once you go through all the head ache with getting there and then realize they cannot take cash... that's when you don't ever want to go back. But the plus side is that they are open 24 hours a day and should always have licenses. Pretty easy to get to by water too.

You can use your 2009 license until they start issuing the 2010 version.

DC has finally exited the stone age, you can buy 2010 licenses online with a credit card and print them out now through this system: https://enode.dc.gov/epermit/Page/Entry/Login.aspx.
