Sitting here on the first morning of 2010, looking back over the pictures of the past 12 months, it is amazing the diversity of action we can find, literally in our own backyard. Here are a few highlights from the year INSIDE the confines of the Severn River, though we certainly made a few trips beyond.

January, February and March had us going to some extremes to catch chain pickerel, including a swim Randy won't soon forget.

Pickerel Derby Time also had us getting onto one of the best yellow perch bites we've ever seen.

From April through August, there was good action to be had outside the river, but we still spent plenty of time inside chasing a few new targets, carp and crabs. The first puts up a better fight, but certainly doesn't taste as good.

September, October, and November we, along with just about every boat with a rod holder on the Severn, turned our attention to rockfish. What a strange Rocktoberfest it was, finding the fish in both 24 feet and 24 inches of water at times.

We didn't get on the water as much as would like in December, but did get back in the groove with some perch and pickerel before the snows started.

And now it's time to do it again.
