Went out with U-Turn Thursday evening, launched at 5:30. Fished the area near the museum for a while then moved over toward the police boat piers. Caught my first speckled trout on a fly (green and white clouser). A keeper at that. Mike had a great time working a much larger fish that finally bit through his leader just about the time he got it to the yak. Probably a blue. Ended the evening working the edges of the channel, still well back in the inlet. Marked a number of fish, but none were interested in what I was offering. Rudee is full of bait. Overall it was pretty slow, but a pleasant evening to be on the water, plus we got to meet another kayak fisherman, Dave who was sporting a red Tarpon 120. He had been working up closer to the mouth of the inlet and did not have much success either.
